Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) Sukanta Majumdar reviewed key development projects and government schemes in Manipur during a two-day visit to the state, with a focus on timely implementation, inter-governmental coordination and strengthening development initiatives.
Majumdar visited Manipur on Thursday and Friday to assess the progress of major projects and schemes being implemented through the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) and the North Eastern Council (NEC). During the visit, he held discussions with senior state officials, met the Governor and Chief Minister, visited an infrastructure project site and interacted with beneficiaries of MDoNER schemes.
The Union Minister called on Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh during his visit. Particular emphasis was placed on improving coordination between the Union and state governments to ensure timely execution of projects.
Other developmental and administrative matters concerning Manipur and the wider Northeast region were also discussed during the meetings.

The meeting was held at the Main Conference Hall of the Civil Secretariat at Mantripukhri in Imphal.
The review meeting examined the status of various projects being implemented in Manipur under MDoNER and NEC, along with investment-related initiatives in the state. The Minister stressed the need for closer coordination between the state government and the Union Ministry for the speedy and effective implementation of ongoing schemes and projects.
The objective, according to the review, was to ensure that development initiatives translate into tangible benefits for the people of Manipur through efficient execution and monitoring.
