Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil, commended the significant progress made by Tripura and other northeastern states over the past decade, attributing it to the development initiatives spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Minister expressed his satisfaction during a review of various projects under the Panchayati Raj department at the state guest house in Agartala on Monday.
Minister Patil praised Tripura’s outstanding performance in implementing key central schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana and REGA. He also commended the state government’s ‘Amar Tripura’ portal, emphasizing the positive impact of central schemes and the state’s sincere efforts in various developmental sectors.
Addressing the media, Minister Patil highlighted the SVAMITVA scheme, focusing on the Survey of Villages Abadi & Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas. The scheme aims to offer an integrated property validation solution for rural India, and the state government has already initiated steps for its implementation.
According to an official press note, the Union Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 4.12 lakh houses for Tripura under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. Notably, the construction of 3.15 lakh houses has been completed, with an expenditure of Rs. 4,528 crore, including Rs. 2,781 crore in the last 18 months.
The press note also highlighted the involvement of 4,66,879 women in 51,412 Self Help Groups under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM). Additionally, 2,131 Village Organizations and 108 cluster level federations have been established, showcasing the state’s commitment to rural development.
During the day, Minister Patil virtually participated in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, engaging in discussions and interactions with beneficiaries. In the evening, he paid courtesy visits to Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, solidifying the collaborative efforts between the central and state governments in fostering development in Tripura.
