Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan has said, Ayushman Bharat scheme is highly beneficial in providing best medical facilities to the common people in the country.
His remarks came while inaugurating the 14th Convocation ceremony of Sri Uthradom Thirunal Institute of Medical Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram today.
The minister said that the number of medical colleges in the country has gone up to 776 from 387 in the last 10 years. He said the health system in India is at par with international standards. The Minister will leave for Chennai tomorrow.
