Remembering the pain of partition, the Minister highlighted that August 14, 1947, marks a dark chapter in Indian history that can never be forgotten.

He added that due to hatred and violence, millions of countrymen were displaced and even lost their lives. He offered his salutations to the noble souls who sacrificed their honor, dignity, and lives to the brutality, frenzy, and violence. During the event, Mr Nadda also paid tribute to the victims of partition by participating in a silent march.

Also at the event, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat remembered the victims and called the partition as one of the greatest human tragedies in the world. He added that this day reminds everyone of the sacrifices of those innocents who endured hellish torment and gave their lives due to the unnecessary division.

Meanwhile, addressing the gathering, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Partition was not merely a division of geographical boundaries, but also a division of the dreams, homes, and emotions of millions of families.

She said that this tragedy claimed countless lives, forced people to leave behind their loved ones and everything they had, and compelled them to start life anew.
