In Nagaland, Union Science and Technology Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said the northeast is playing a key role in driving India’s growth. He lauded the contribution of the people of Nagaland in the country’s growth journey. Dr Singh made these remarks while launching the nationwide Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan in Wokha district on the second day of his visit to the state. Speaking on developmental issues, the Minister noted that he had discussed key issues, including improving highway connectivity with local legislators. Dr Singh also described women as the backbone of rural communities and essential stakeholders in India’s development, and encouraged more women’s self-help groups.
