Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today planted a sapling and launched the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 campaign in New Delhi. During the event, the Minister also launched the special module and a website on Ek Ped Maa ke Naam 2.0, including a web portal to monitor the activities of eco clubs for Mission Life. Addressing the gathering, Mr Pradhan underlined that the carbon emissions of the country are below the desirable limit. He also highlighted the importance of trees for the survival of every living being. The Minister further emphasised preparing the future generations to envision Net Zero by 2070. Underscoring the need to reduce the use of plastic for environmental protection, the Minister noted that today, 400 million tonnes of plastic are being manufactured, out of which only 10 per cent can be recycled. He also called for adopting sustainable development practices for environmental conservation.
