Union Minister Ajay Tamta calls for urgent identification of black spots to cut road fatalities by 2030 –

Minister of State for Road, Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta has said that there is an urgent need to identify black spots and accident points in huge numbers throughout the country to analyse and understand the contributing factors and implement corrective measures. Speaking at the Road Safety, Physical Planning and Innovation Programme in New Delhi, he encouraged all stakeholders and Academia to actively participate and make roads safer for every commuter and road user.
 
The minister said that the government’s goal is to have concrete, evidence-based, and implementable recommendations across all aspects of road safety. He added that India has a clear objective to drastically reduce fatalities by 2030. Mr. Tamta said that with continuous technological advancements the go,vernment is committed to aligning India’s road infrastructure with Vision 2047 and take our National Highway network to the world-class level.
