U.S. President Donald Trump has said that Ukraine could win back all of its territory from Russia with military support from NATO and the United States.
President Trump said on his social media post that Kyiv was in a position to fight and win all of Ukraine back in its original form. The change in Trump’s stance has come after a bilateral meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, who welcomed it as a big shift.
The statement left many European leaders and diplomats gathered at the United Nations General Assembly puzzling over its meaning.
President Trump said, his views had been altered because he was beginning to fully understand the military and economic situation, and he called Russia a paper tiger with huge economic problems. He also criticized Russia for its inability to defeat its smaller neighbor on the battlefield.
