Temple town Udaipur is all set for two-day Diwali festival to be held on November 4 and 5 next.
The Tripurasundari temple – popularly known as Matabari has already taken a festive look with colourful illuminations all around the temple premises.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, accompanied by other dignitaries, will inaugurate the Diwali Festival and Mela on November 4.
The administration has made all preparations including security arrangements and crowd management for a smooth Diwali celebration.
District Magistrate, Gomati- Raval Hamendra Kumar in a press conference said as many as 650 stalls including government exhibition stalls would participate in the festival. A good number of artists from Tripura and other states would join the cultural event- Tripureswari Dance and Music Festival, one of the key attractions of the Diwali festival.
He said LED screens would be installed for the pilgrims to have a direct glimpse of the Mela from far away.
Superintendent of Police, Gomati- Shaswat Kumar, OSD of Mata Tripurasundari Temple Trust Bhaskar Das Gupta, SDM Anirudh Roy and Deputy Director of ICA- Manoj Debbarma were present in the press conference.
Mela committee chairman and MLA Biplab Kumar Ghosh and Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Swapan Adhikari sought cooperation from all for smooth conduct of the Diwali festival.
