In Taiwan, typhoon Danas ripped across main island, leaving two dead and more than 500 injured. Danas has become a tropical storm. Local officials said, by early this morning, the storm had moved north to the East China Sea. Authorities said, 502 people were injured, mostly in southern Taiwan. Media reports said, intense winds and rain caused branches of trees to sway and some buildings to partially collapse. Transportation has also been affected. A total of 144 flights within Taiwan, were canceled today. Some flights between Taiwan and other destinations, including China, have also been canceled. Taiwanese weather authorities said, strong winds and rain are expected to continue until tonight.
