In a move aimed at modernizing its services and aligning with the principles of “Digital India,” the Tripura Road Transport Corporation (TRTC) launched an e-ticketing facility in collaboration with PayTM for online bus ticket bookings. This initiative seeks to enhance customer convenience and improve overall service quality.

Abhijit Deb, Chairman of TRTC, emphasized the importance of this advanced e-ticketing system in meeting customer needs and contributing to the broader mission of digital transformation championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“TRTC has introduced an advanced e-ticketing system with a strong focus on meeting customer requirements and working towards enhancing our services. This decision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Digital India’ mission,” stated TRTC Chairman Abhijit Deb.

He further elaborated, “While we previously offered online payment options like Google Pay and Phone Pay, this time, in partnership with PayTM, customers will be able to book bus tickets from the comfort of their homes. Moreover, this facility will also be available onboard our buses.”

The e-ticketing facility was initially launched on two buses operating on the Agartala-Khowai and Agartala-Sabroom routes. TRTC has plans to expand this service to all vital routes connecting the capital city. Additionally, travelers on the Agartala-Kolkata route via Dhaka will also benefit from this convenient service.

Highlighting other upcoming initiatives, Abhijit Deb mentioned, “TRTC is soon introducing AC buses on the Agartala-Kamalpur route. Furthermore, digital facilities will be implemented at various motor stands in the capital city in the near future.”

In a significant development, TRTC has also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Clear Trip, enabling passengers to book air tickets for domestic and international flights with ease. This partnership will further enhance the convenience and accessibility of travel services for the people of Tripura.

The launch of the e-ticketing facility and the collaboration with PayTM and Clear Trip reflect TRTC’s commitment to embracing digital solutions and providing enhanced services to its customers, thereby contributing to the state’s modernization and ease of travel.
