TRLM signs MoUs with 13 Project Implementing Agencies under DDU-GKY 2.0, sanctioning 17 projects to provide industry-relevant skill training and employment opportunities for rural youth of Tripura from October 2026.
The Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) has taken another step towards strengthening skill development and employment opportunities for rural youth by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0.
The MoU signing ceremony was held at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala on Wednesday in the presence of TRLM Chief Executive Officer Tarit Kanti Chakma, IAS. The programme was also attended by the Additional CEO and Chief Operating Officer (Skills) of TRLM, along with District Mission Coordinators (DMCs) and Block Project Managers (BPMs) representing districts across Tripura.
Project Heads, Directors and Chief Executive Officers of all 13 participating Project Implementing Agencies also attended the programme and took part in the MoU signing process. The initiative is aimed at creating wider access to industry-oriented skill training for young people from rural areas and improving their prospects for sustainable employment.
According to the programme details, a total of 17 projects have been sanctioned to 13 PIAs under DDU-GKY 2.0. The projects cover a diverse range of job roles and trades linked to sectors with employment opportunities, including healthcare, retail, tourism and hospitality, electrical services, solar energy, warehousing, computing and home appliance services.
The approved job roles include Telehealth Services Coordinator, Cosmetologist, Warehouse Executive, Multi-Skill Technician (Home Appliances), Retail Sales Assistant, Solar Lighting Assembler, Counter Sales Executive–Tourism & Hospitality, Receptionist, Retail Sales Executive, Guest Service Associate–Food & Beverage, Assistant Electrician, Field Technician–Computing & Peripherals and Solar PV Module Manufacturing Technician.
The range of courses is intended to provide rural youth with practical and market-oriented skills aligned with different sectors of the economy. By offering training across multiple trades, the programme seeks to improve the employability of participants and help them access job opportunities in Tripura as well as other parts of the country.
Training under the newly sanctioned projects will be conducted at multiple centres in Agartala. In addition, one training centre each has been identified in Udaipur in Gomati district, Kolkata and Guwahati. The training programmes are scheduled to commence from October 2026.
The expansion of training locations is expected to provide rural candidates with greater access to structured skill development programmes. The participating agencies will provide training in their respective approved job roles, with the focus remaining on industry-relevant skills and employment-oriented learning.
DDU-GKY 2.0 is being implemented with the objective of supporting rural youth through skill development and placement-linked opportunities. Through the latest initiative, TRLM is seeking to connect young people with skills that can help them enter different employment sectors and build sustainable livelihoods.
The MoU signing programme also brought together officials working at the district and block levels with the agencies responsible for implementing the approved training projects. Their participation is expected to support coordination and effective implementation of the programme across different locations.
TRLM has been focusing on livelihood promotion and skill development as part of its efforts to strengthen economic opportunities for rural communities. The latest projects under DDU-GKY 2.0 add another component to these efforts by creating opportunities for rural youth to receive specialised training in a variety of emerging and established job roles.

With 17 projects sanctioned to 13 PIAs and training scheduled to begin in October 2026, the initiative is set to expand the skill-development network available to rural youth in Tripura. The programme aims to equip participants with relevant skills, improve their employment prospects and contribute to stronger and more sustainable rural livelihoods.
