Tripura University is all set to introduce four new Departments. A decision in this regard was taken in the meeting of the Academic Council of the University on December 16 last.
In the meeting, it was unanimously resolved to start the new Post Graduate Departments and Diploma Courses in the University and to write a letter to the University Grants Commission (UGC), New
Delhi for approval and sanctioning of the grants.
The proposed new departments are- Department of Social Work, Department of Manipuri Dance, Department of National Security Studies and one-year Diploma courses in Japanese, Korean, Nepali and Manipuri Languages.
According to an official release, the proposed new Departments and Courses will be started in the University in a phased manner once the proposals are accepted and grants are released by the UGC/ Union Ministry of Education.
