Tripura’s tourism sector is set for rapid growth, with significant global ambitions over the next two years, said Minister for Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday. Speaking to the media after the 38th Meeting of the Board of Directors of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation held at Geetanjali Tourism Guest House, Chowdhury highlighted the state’s strategic plans and achievements aimed at expanding Tripura’s presence on the world tourism stage.

The meeting focused on reviewing recent achievements, evaluating action taken reports, and setting future objectives. According to Chowdhury, the state government, in partnership with the Central Government, Asian Development Bank, and World Bank, is committed to elevating Tripura’s tourism through comprehensive development plans.

Chowdhury emphasized that Tripura is poised to become a sought-after destination, thanks to initiatives that will showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to a global audience. Key officials, including Secretary Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Chief Wildlife Warden Rabindra Kumar Shyamal, Tourism Secretary U.K. Chakma, and other department heads attended the meeting, underscoring the collaborative efforts being made to achieve these ambitious tourism goals.
