The Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress (TMC) observed the Foundation Day of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) by organizing a humanitarian outreach programme in Banamalipur, focusing on the distribution of winter clothing among economically weaker sections of society. The initiative aimed to provide relief to poor and underprivileged families struggling to cope with the biting cold during the peak winter season.
The welfare programme witnessed active participation from party leaders, youth wing members, and local workers, who jointly reached out to vulnerable residents and distributed warm clothing. The event was held as part of the party’s broader commitment to social responsibility and people-centric politics.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Shantanu Saha, President of the Tripura Pradesh Youth Trinamool Congress, extended warm greetings and congratulations to the people of Tripura on the Foundation Day of the party. He recalled the formation of the Trinamool Congress in 1998, highlighting its ideological foundation rooted in public service, democratic values, and grassroots empowerment.
Saha stated that since its inception, the Trinamool Congress has consistently worked for the welfare of the common people, with a special focus on protecting democratic rights and social justice. He acknowledged the dedication of party leaders and grassroots workers who, according to him, have played a crucial role in strengthening the organization across the state.
Emphasizing the importance of such humanitarian initiatives, Saha said the winter cloth distribution programme was not confined to Banamalipur alone. He asserted that similar efforts would continue across Tripura to support distressed and marginalized communities. “Our responsibility does not end with politics alone. Standing beside the poor, the elderly, and the distressed is a moral duty,” he said.
Local residents expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that winter relief initiatives provide significant comfort to families facing financial hardship. Many beneficiaries described the assistance as essential during a season when basic necessities become difficult to afford.
