A student of the National institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela hanged himself to death inside this hostel room today. The deceased , identified as Debamalya Roy Karmakar, a resident of Tripura and a student of Electronics and Communication Engineering . The reason for his act is yet to be ascertained.
The B.Tech second year student was found hanging in the hostel room inside MS Swaminathan Hall of Residence.
The deceased was alone in the room since his roommate had left for his hometown, Sambalpur , when he took the extreme step.
According to the Registrar of the NIT, Rohan Dhiman his parents were constantly in touch with him and they informed the authorities when he did not take their call this morning . Door had to be forced open.
According to report , police of the Sector 3 Police station reached the spot and started an investigation taking the body in their possession.
