Tripura has shown remarkable achievements in regard to MGNREGA implementation in the state- which recorded a steady rise in the Average Person Day figures since 2018.

What is more, Tripura’s work completion rate is 99.16 percent which is above the national average of 85.62 percent for the works taken up to 2020-21. Besides, five among the twelve aspirational blocks achieved more than 100 person days on an average, four blocks achieved average 90 mandays and the remaining three blocks registered above 80 person days on an average.

While it was 253.09 lakhs person days (average 46) during 2018-19, 344.02 lakhs (average 61) during 2019-20 , it shot up to 437.23 lakhs person days (average 75) during 2020-21, as per the data released by Deputy Chief Minister who also holds the Finance portfoilio Jishnu Dev Verma in a chart of achievements under MGNREGA in Tripura released from his official Facebook handle on Saturday.

The state also provided the second highest average (75) person days to a household having a MGNREGA job card in the country in the Financial Year 2020-21.

Dev Varma said, timely payment of wages under MGNREGA had also significantly improved over the past three years.

“Timely payment of wages has improved from 84.4 percent in 2017-18 to 98.24 percent in 2020-21,” the Deputy Chief Minister wrote.

According to his social media post,

Raishyabari among the aspirational blocks generated the highest 121 person days followed by Dumburnagar (113 mandays), Chawmanu (111.78 mandays), Ganganagar (107.15 mandays) and Mugiakami (104 person days).

Importantly, the Deputy Chief Minister’s Facebook post also mentioned that a REGA job card holder used to get only 34 mandays on an average in 2017-18 but now the average person days had increased to 75.
