The Suitcase Water Purifier, an innovative product developed by Prof. Harjeet Nath, Assistant Professor of Chemical and Polymer Engineering Department at Tripura University, has been invited for exhibition at the National Technology Week 2023 celebrations under the AICTE Pavilion. The event was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Pragati Maidan and featured more than 500 technology start-ups and innovations.

The event is considered one of the most important exhibitions of the country.

The Suitcase Water Purifier is the only product from Tripura and among a few from the North East that was invited for demonstration and showcase during the weeklong activities. The device houses an innovative portable water purification machine capable of purifying any type of water instantly and delivering WHO-grade drinking water immediately at just 37 paisa per litre.

Additionally, the device can provide emergency power in the form of overnight power to light LED lights and charge mobile phones immediately. Various diplomats, scientists, and higher officials from different ministries appreciated the work of Prof. Nath and expressed their desire to see the product hit the market soon and be implemented for the service of security forces and rescue teams in the future.

Prof. Nath’s invention has the potential to revolutionize the way drinking water is purified and provided, particularly in remote and disaster-stricken areas where access to clean water is limited. The product has received widespread praise for its portability, affordability, and ease of use, and it is hoped that it will be available for mass use soon.
