Google India has signed an MoU with the Tripura government to develop an AI ecosystem, technology innovation, and skill development. Additional agreements with IIT Kharagpur and ICT Academy mark a major milestone during the Destination Tripura Business Conclave, boosting the state’s digital transformation.
Google India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tripura government to strengthen cooperation in emerging technologies, innovation, and skill development. The agreement was signed on the second day of the Destination Tripura Business Conclave, marking one of the event’s most important achievements.
The partnership is expected to play a crucial role in developing an Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem in Tripura, enabling the state to leverage advanced technologies for governance, education, entrepreneurship, and workforce development.
According to officials, the collaboration with Google India will focus on technology transfer, resource sharing, and capacity building. The initiative is aimed at equipping students, professionals, startups, and government institutions with the skills and technological resources needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Jeya Raghul Geshan B, Director of IT, said that Google India has agreed to support the state through technology transfer and the sharing of technical resources. He added that the collaboration would contribute significantly to Tripura’s vision of becoming a technology-driven state with a strong AI ecosystem.
Apart from Google India, the state government also signed Memorandums of Understanding with IIT Kharagpur and the ICT Academy to promote research, innovation, technical education, and skill development. These partnerships are expected to enhance collaboration between academic institutions and industry, creating new opportunities for students and young professionals.
Officials further informed that several other agreements were signed with companies engaged in drone technology, cloud infrastructure, audio-visual solutions, and IT consultancy services. In addition, multiple companies have expressed interest in investing in the semiconductor sector, and the state government is actively holding discussions with them to explore future investment opportunities.
