The former Chief Minister and also the leader of opposition Manik Sarkar on Friday remembered V I Lenin on his 153rd birth anniversary and slammed the ruling BJP government in Tripura to allege that the state of Tripura was reeling under ‘fascist’ rule.

Sarkar alleged that the oppositions were being attacked and the people’s rights were being snatched under the rule of the present government both at the centre and state. He alleged that people’s right to vote were also being snatched as what could be witnessed during the last elections.

In the context of Tripura, Sarkar stated that the state facing acute crisis of job and food as the BJP had “failed” to implement all its poll promises.

At present the interests of the capitalists were being served across the country, where the middle-class, working class and the labourers were deprived at large.

The CPI-M politburo member spoke of the works of Lenin and made reference to his seminal work- ‘imperialism the highest stage of capitalism’.

He said that Lenin was able to develop Marxism and understand the development of capitalism to another stage- imperialism. He also mentioned the contribution of Lenin towards understanding reality and said that the living soul of Marxism is ‘concrete analysis of concrete conditions’.

Manik Sarkar urged the party workers and leaders to follow the ideology of Lenin in this present situation where the capitalists are being served and the working class are being exploited.

Also spoke on the occasion CPM secretary Jiten Choudhury and other senior leaders of the party.
