Agartala, Nov 05: Tripura senior women’s cricket team coach Sharabani Debnath has been appointed as the fielding coach of the national women’s cricket team.
31-year-old Debnath, a Level ‘B’ BCCI coach, has been impressive, especially in instilling basics of the game in the youngsters. Apart from her home state- Tripura, she has worked with Arunachal Cricket Association, Vidarbha Cricket Association and LNCPE Trivandrum.
As soon as the official announcement came from BCCI on Friday, a wave of happiness was seen among the cricket lovers of Tripura. Many people also congratulated her on social media.
She has been appointed as the fielding coach for the national U-19 women’s team in four-team series to be held in Vizag from November 13 to 20 and series against New Zealand to be held in Mumbai from November 27 to December 6 next.
Speaking to the media, Debnath said, “It’s a new challenge for me. I will try to deliver my best and bring success to my country”. She also sought blessings from the people of Tripura for the journey ahead.
She met the officials of Tripura Cricket Association at the afternoon. The players of Tripura Women’s Cricket team also greeted Shrabani on her achievement.
