Dr Zairemthiama Pachuau, the founder and owner of the Hillcrest Medical Center of Jampui Hill, was awarded in the category of “Social Impact Award for Making Quality Health Services Available to All in Rural Tripura” on March 17 last at Taj Bangalore in Bengaluru, Karnataka as one of the MSME startup entrepreneurs in various fields like education, hospital and health care, retail, design, real estate etc from across the country.
The awards were given by Blindwink inc, which is a research, branding, media and film promoter. Amrita Rao, a noted Bollywood actress gave away the award trophies and certificates.
Dr Z. Pachuau is a learned clinician with vast experience in making services of hospitals and health care institutes affordable, at the same time profitable and sustainable. His educational qualifications speak for his various interests concerning the industry. He holds MBBS, PG Dip in Hospital Administration, PG Dip in HIV/AIDS Management, PG Dip in Family Medicine, Fellowship in Obs & Gynaecology, MPhil (HIV/AIDS Management), and an MBA.
Over 21 years of work experience in the field of health care, simultaneously both in the clinical and managerial roles with different agencies (WHO, The Salvation Army church), and hospitals including ten years abroad in Africa since 2007 as Chief Medical Officer role at Chikankata Hospital (Zambia) and Howard Hospital (Zimbabwe).
Coming back from Africa to Tripura (India), Dr Pachuau and his wife founded and established Hillcrest Medical Center in 2017 at their native place, Behliangchhip village, Jampui Hill, a remote hill station of Tripura, strategically serving multi-ethnic communities of the three states of Tripura, Mizoram, Assam and also from Bangladesh.
