Tripura CM Manik Saha highlights the pivotal role of youth in shaping India’s future, emphasizing Swami Vivekananda’s ideals and the importance of discipline, education, and service in nation-building during the National Youth Festival.
Emphasizing the crucial role of young people in nation-building, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday declared that the confidence, energy, and contributions of the youth will determine India’s future. Speaking at the inauguration of the state-level National Youth Festival held at Nazrul Kalakshetra, CM Saha stressed that a strong nation can only be built on a foundation of a strong society, driven by its youth.
Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, the Chief Minister highlighted the relevance of the revered spiritual leader’s ideals in today’s world. “Swami Vivekananda firmly believed in the power of youth, and his vision continues to inspire generations,” said Saha. He described Swami Vivekananda as a pioneer of awakening, a visionary thinker, and a true leader whose thoughts remain deeply relevant for contemporary India.
“The youth of today are the main driving force behind the future progress of both the country and the state,” Saha added. The National Youth Festival, celebrated annually, aims to awaken national consciousness and patriotism among young people, while promoting the values and teachings of Swami Vivekananda among the younger generation.
Underlining the importance of youth as the most vibrant and formative phase of life, CM Saha noted, “Youth is the stage when inner talent, strength, and confidence are nurtured. It is crucial that young people imbibe Swami Vivekananda’s ideals in their daily lives to channel their energy towards nation-building.”

He further emphasized the necessity of guiding this youthful energy in a positive direction to bring about substantial progress and social development. “The youth society is the greatest strength of the nation, and India is the largest repository of this strength,” the Chief Minister said, highlighting the country’s demographic advantage.
Referencing Swami Vivekananda’s teachings, Saha reminded the youth that serving humanity is akin to serving God. Therefore, education should extend beyond academic learning to include dedication to serving society, the nation, and humanity as a whole. “The true significance of Youth Day lies in living a disciplined life, acquiring meaningful education, serving the people, and loving the country,” he stated.
CM Saha also lauded the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s ideals, has launched various programs to harness and nurture India’s youth potential. The government’s focus on youth empowerment and skill development, according to Saha, reflects this vision of building a robust and progressive nation.

The Chief Minister concluded by urging the youth of Tripura and India at large to adopt Swami Vivekananda’s ideals wholeheartedly, stressing that a disciplined, educated, and service-oriented youth population will be the cornerstone of India’s bright future.
