Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha extended immediate assistance to bring back the mortal remains of Yadav Sutradhar, a Kailashahar resident who passed away in Mumbai. Sanctioning Rs. 1.20 lakh and coordinating with Maharashtra officials, the CM ensured timely support, providing relief to the grieving family in Tripura.

In a gesture of compassion and responsibility, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha has stepped forward to assist a grieving family from Kailashahar, ensuring the safe return of their loved one’s mortal remains from Mumbai. The intervention highlights the state government’s commitment to supporting citizens in times of distress, irrespective of where they may be.

The deceased, Yadav Sutradhar, a resident of Durgapur in Kailashahar subdivision, passed away on September 3 after suffering a fatal stroke while working as a driver in Mumbai. Sutradhar, son of Dhirendra Sutradhar, had been working in Maharashtra’s capital city to support his family financially. His sudden demise came as a devastating shock to his family back home in Tripura.

As the tragic news reached the family, they faced the overwhelming challenge of bringing his mortal remains back to Kailashahar, a task that involved significant financial and logistical hurdles. It was at this crucial juncture that the matter was brought to the notice of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Tripura, Dr. Saha immediately instructed the concerned officials to initiate all necessary measures. Acting swiftly, the State Secretariat coordinated with the office of the Maharashtra Chief Minister and other relevant authorities to facilitate the arrangements required for transporting the body from Mumbai to Tripura.

Recognizing the family’s financial difficulties, the Chief Minister also extended monetary support from his relief fund, sanctioning an amount of Rs. 1.20 lakh. This timely financial assistance was crucial in covering the transportation costs and ensuring that the remains could be brought home without delay.

The return of Yadav Sutradhar’s body has provided much-needed solace to his grieving family, who can now perform the last rites in accordance with cultural and religious traditions. Family members expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for his prompt and compassionate response during their time of despair.

CM’s Commitment to Public Welfare

Dr. Saha’s intervention reflects a larger ethos of governance that emphasizes empathy and direct action. His timely involvement in this matter demonstrates how leadership can provide immediate relief and reassurance to citizens during moments of crisis.

This is not the first time that the Chief Minister has come forward to extend such humanitarian assistance. In recent years, the Tripura government under Dr. Saha has repeatedly emphasized the importance of welfare-driven governance, with special focus on health, education, social security, and citizen support.

By stepping in to ensure the return of a deceased resident from outside the state, the Chief Minister has once again reinforced the government’s role as a protective and supportive institution for its people. Officials in the CMO also noted that such cases require inter-state coordination and sensitive handling, which the administration was able to ensure promptly under the Chief Minister’s guidance.

A Message of Solidarity

The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the struggles faced by many families whose members travel to distant states in search of livelihood. The tragedy of losing a breadwinner away from home can be compounded by financial and procedural hurdles in bringing back mortal remains.

Dr. Saha’s response underscores the message that no citizen of Tripura is left alone in such circumstances. By providing both financial and administrative support, the state leadership has set an example of governance rooted in empathy and solidarity.

As the Sutradhar family in Kailashahar now prepares to bid a final farewell to Yadav, the community around them has rallied in support. For many, the Chief Minister’s quick action has not only brought relief to one family but has also reaffirmed the trust of ordinary citizens in the state’s commitment to stand by them in times of personal loss.
