Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha chaired a Task Monitoring System (TMS) meeting via video conference, reviewing law and order, healthcare, infrastructure, road repairs, food safety, and public services. He directed officials to expedite monsoon-damaged road restoration, strengthen policing, improve healthcare facilities, and ensure uninterrupted public services statewide.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday directed concerned departments to expedite the repair of roads damaged during the ongoing monsoon season across Tripura, emphasizing the need to ensure smooth transportation and minimize inconvenience to the public.

The direction was issued during a meeting of the Task Monitoring System (TMS), held through video conferencing from the Conference Hall of the State Secretariat. The meeting reviewed a wide range of issues related to law and order, healthcare services, infrastructure development, public welfare, and service delivery mechanisms across the state.

Chairing the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of strengthening public service delivery with greater speed, transparency, accountability, and responsibility. Senior officials, including District Magistrates (DMs), Superintendents of Police (SPs), departmental secretaries, and officers from all eight districts, participated virtually and provided updates on ongoing projects and initiatives.

With the monsoon season underway, Dr. Saha instructed departments concerned to undertake immediate repairs of roads affected by heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. He particularly emphasized the timely completion of the road project connecting Mohanpur and Subal Singh, directing officials to ensure that construction work is completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects being implemented across the state and urged officials to ensure that all ongoing works are completed without unnecessary delays. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure and improving connectivity to support economic growth and public convenience.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the prevailing law and order situation. Dr. Saha stressed the need for coordinated efforts to combat drug abuse, illegal activities, and crime. He instructed the police administration to keep mobile patrolling units active in every district and maintain heightened vigilance in public places, including parks, marketplaces, and areas frequently visited by children and families.

Highlighting the importance of public safety, the Chief Minister directed law enforcement agencies to continue proactive measures to ensure a secure environment throughout the state. He noted that maintaining law and order remains a top priority for the government.

The healthcare sector also featured prominently in the review meeting. Dr. Saha assessed the condition of healthcare facilities and emphasized the need to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in hospitals and healthcare institutions. He sought updates on the functioning of Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and directed authorities to strengthen healthcare services to ensure better access and quality treatment for citizens.

Addressing food safety concerns, the Chief Minister instructed Food Safety Officers to intensify field inspections across the state. He stressed the importance of ensuring that food establishments strictly adhere to prescribed quality and hygiene standards during food preparation, storage, and sale to safeguard public health.

The meeting further reviewed waste management systems and sanitation measures in urban and rural areas. Dr. Saha directed concerned departments to remain vigilant and take all necessary steps for effective waste disposal and environmental cleanliness.

In addition, the Chief Minister reviewed the maintenance and functioning of LED display screens installed in different urban locations. He also sought updates on drainage infrastructure, including the operational status of water-pumping systems deployed during heavy rainfall to prevent waterlogging and flooding in vulnerable areas.

Recognizing the challenges posed by adverse weather conditions during the monsoon, Dr. Saha emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted power supply throughout the state. He instructed power department officials to remain prepared and respond promptly to disruptions caused by storms, heavy rain, or other weather-related incidents.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, held detailed discussions with District Magistrates from all eight districts on various issues related to the Task Monitoring System.
