Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha engaged in crucial discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda in New Delhi, focusing on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and state affairs, party sources revealed.
During separate meetings at the new parliament building, Saha delved into a spectrum of topics, including Tripura’s developmental agenda, electoral strategies for 2024, and organizational matters.
Emphasizing Tripura’s commitment to secure both Lok Sabha seats for the BJP, Saha expressed confidence in replicating the party’s success in the previous polls.
However, behind-the-scenes negotiations with the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), a formidable opposition party with a strong tribal base, hint at a potential alliance to secure the Tripura East Lok Sabha seat, reserved for tribal representation.
With tribals comprising a significant portion of the state’s electorate, BJP leaders are actively seeking TMP’s support to bolster their electoral prospects.
As political maneuvering intensifies, Saha’s strategic consultations underscore the high stakes and complex dynamics shaping Tripura’s electoral landscape ahead of the pivotal 2024 elections.
