Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha inaugurates development projects worth Rs 207 crore in Dhalai, emphasizing socio-economic growth, infrastructure expansion, transparency, and the government’s mission toward building a Viksit Tripura under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday reiterated that the primary objective of the state government is to enhance the overall quality of life for every citizen by identifying and addressing core public needs. He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring balanced socio-economic development in both rural and urban regions of the state.

Dr. Saha made these remarks while inaugurating 20 major development projects and laying the foundation stones for two additional initiatives during a public programme held at Manikbhandar Harachandra HS School Ground in Kamalpur under Dhalai district.

“Development Must Reach the Last Person”: CM Saha

The Chief Minister highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive development, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the most marginalized sections of society.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly emphasized that development must reach the last person in society. Most parts of Dhalai district fall under aspirational blocks, and the district itself is considered aspirational. Since our government came to power in 2018, we have been giving special importance to the development of Dhalai. The Central Government is extending strong support, and several projects are being implemented to improve the socio-economic conditions here.”

He pointed out that despite significant progress, certain opposition groups are unwilling to acknowledge the development taking place across the state.

“The opposition fails to recognize these achievements. They know very well what is happening but pretend not to see the progress. Tripura is now witnessing one development milestone after another.”

Dr. Saha asserted that a new development chapter is being written in the history of Tripura as the government continues to implement transformative projects across departments.

22 Projects Launched Under Multiple Departments

In total, projects worth Rs 207 crore were inaugurated or initiated across sectors including:

  • Rural Development

  • Urban Development

  • Public Works Department (PWD)

  • Health Department

  • Education Department

  • National Highways

These initiatives include new roads, bridges, school buildings, office complexes, health centres, staff quarters, hostels, market sheds, modern motor stands, shelter homes, and sports infrastructure such as synthetic football grounds.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s mission of ensuring holistic progress.

“The State Government aims to achieve overall development by working for the welfare of the people. Along with this, the economic upliftment of the citizens is one of our major goals. Development is a continuous process; it never ends. Our government is working tirelessly to maintain this momentum.”

Tripura Advancing Toward Vision 2047

Referring to the Prime Minister’s dream of Viksit Bharat 2047, Dr. Saha said the Tripura Government is determined to build a Viksit Tripura by strengthening infrastructure, digital governance, and public service delivery.

“We are identifying key public issues and implementing solutions accordingly. To achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Tripura is also working with clear goals and strong dedication.”

Tripura Declared ‘Front Runner’ State

Dr. Saha highlighted that NITI Aayog recognized Tripura as a ‘Front Runner State’, proof of the government’s sustained performance across multiple development indicators.

He also noted that the introduction of e-office systems from the Cabinet level to Panchayats has improved transparency, enhanced work efficiency, and benefited the public.

Plans for Medical College in Dhalai District

A major announcement was the government’s intention to establish a medical college at the Dhalai District Hospital in the future. The Chief Minister highlighted the significant expansion of medical facilities over recent years.
