Tripura Cabinet approves recruitment for over 400 government posts across key departments, including Cooperative, Social Welfare, Education, and Urban Development. New Anganwadi Centres, technical posts, and academic positions cleared to strengthen public services and boost administrative efficiency.

The Tripura government has approved the recruitment of more than 400 personnel across various departments, marking one of the largest coordinated hiring initiatives in recent years. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced the decision on Wednesday while briefing the press at the State Secretariat, following Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.

According to the minister, the Cabinet’s approval reflects the state government’s commitment to strengthening public service delivery, filling long-pending vacancies, and enhancing administrative efficiency in departments that directly serve citizens. Chowdhury emphasized that the extensive recruitment plan is “a reflection of the government’s people-centric and development-driven approach.”

97 Posts to Be Filled Under Cooperative Department

Highlighting department-wise recruitment details, the Tourism Minister said that 97 vacant posts under the Cooperative Department will be filled through the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT). These posts include:

All these posts fall under Group-C fixed-pay categories. The minister noted that filling these vacancies is crucial for improving auditing, financial transparency, and cooperative sector field operations.

ICDS Supervisor Recruitment Through TPSC

In the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, 28 Supervisors under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) will be recruited through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). These supervisors play a key role in overseeing Anganwadi operations, monitoring nutrition programmes, and implementing child and maternal welfare schemes.

Chowdhury said the recruitment would strengthen field monitoring and ensure better delivery of flagship welfare initiatives across the state.

To strengthen academic operations and technical training, the Cabinet approved hiring 8 faculty members and supporting staff on a contractual basis. The sanctioned posts include:

119 New Anganwadi Centres, 238 New Posts

In a major step to strengthen grassroots-level child development services, the Social Welfare Department will establish 119 new Anganwadi Centres across the state. In connection with this expansion, the Cabinet approved creation and recruitment of:

  • 119 Anganwadi Workers

  • 119 Anganwadi Helpers

The minister said the decision aims to bring essential nutrition, preschool education, and maternal health services closer to underserved communities.

22 Night Guard Posts Under School Education

The Cabinet also sanctioned recruitment for 22 Night Guard posts, categorized under Group-D, for the Tripura Secondary Education Department to ensure security in school campuses.

Altogether, the Cabinet has approved recruitment for 407 posts across different departments.
