Three houses were burgled in a single night in Rabindra Pally under Udaipur Subdivision, triggering panic among residents. Police have launched an investigation into the daring thefts involving cash, gold ornaments, and household items.

A wave of panic swept through Rabindra Pally under Udaipur Subdivision after a series of daring burglaries took place late Saturday night, targeting three houses in the same locality. The back-to-back thefts have left residents alarmed and demanding stronger security measures.

According to local sources, unidentified miscreants carried out coordinated break-ins at three separate residences under the jurisdiction of Radhakishore Police Station. The incidents came to light on Sunday morning when neighbors noticed suspicious signs of forced entry and alerted the affected families.

The worst-hit was the residence of Samar Dhar, who had been away for over a week, staying at his daughter’s house in Agartala. Taking advantage of the vacant premises, the thieves allegedly broke open the main door lock and entered the house. After rummaging through cupboards and storage units, they reportedly decamped with approximately Rs 25,000 in cash and around 23 grams of gold ornaments. Family members described the loss as both financially and emotionally distressing.

In another incident, the house of Chinu Bala Das was targeted the same night. Although the culprits reportedly failed to find significant valuables, they ransacked the rooms, leaving furniture and household items scattered across the floor. The damage has added to the sense of insecurity among neighbors.

Similarly, the residence of Parmita Guha was also broken into while she was away. The thieves allegedly stole several batteries from the property before fleeing. The pattern of targeting vacant houses has raised suspicions that the perpetrators may have conducted prior surveillance.

Police personnel from Radhakishore Police Station promptly reached the scene after receiving information and initiated a preliminary investigation. Officials confirmed that written complaints have been lodged and a formal case has been registered. Investigators are examining whether an organized theft gang is operating in the area and are collecting forensic evidence from the crime scenes.

The consecutive burglaries within a single night have triggered fear and anger among residents of Rabindra Pally. Local community members have demanded increased night patrolling, installation of CCTV cameras, and improved street lighting to deter criminal activity.
