Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said that India is such a country which cannot be converted into a Hindu Nation.

After paying homage to the great socialist leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, Kumar told news persons here that it is impossible to convert India into a Hindu Nation.

He said people of various religious beliefs live here and if someone speaks about transforming itinto a Hindu Nation, it has no value.

Kumar said that except the ideology and words of Mahatma Gandhi there is no need to pay attention to any such statements.

He said if someone speaks about transforming India into a Hindu Nation, it means the person want to destroy the country which is impossible.

Kumar said that the nation could progress only by following the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi.

He further said let some vested interest forces speak rubbish, the people would take a final call during Lok Sabha elections.

Replying to a query regarding income tax rate at BBC office the Chief Minister said that the action speaks about their (opposition) desire. Without taking the name of the opposition he said whoever may speak against them ( opposition) will invite action.

When asked about demands for the constitution of a joint parliamentary committee on the issues related to the business tycoon Gautam Adani, Chief Minister said that the parliamentarians have the right to speak on any incident.

Kumar said when he was in the opposition the government at that time used to listen to them.

He further said that when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was Prime Minister he too use to listen to the opposition.

Replying to a query regarding former minister Sudhakar Singhs statement who had dubbed Nitish government as anti farmer, Kumar said he does not take notice of any such statement and was continuously working for the benefit of the farmers.

Kumar also elaborated about the success of the agriculture road maps and added that his government was striving for development of each and every sector including education, health and others at its own resources.
