In a bid to celebrate the first anniversary of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ initiated by senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Tripura Pradesh Congress will have a series of events  across the state, said party president Asish Kumar Saha in  a press conference held on Tuesday.

The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra,’ a historic and unique initiative, saw Rahul Gandhi march for more than a thousand kilometers, spanning from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Asish Kumar Saha described it as an important journey aimed at addressing pressing national issues.

“To celebrate the one-year completion of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Tripura Pradesh Congress is going to organize a one-hour Padyatra and Sabha in all nine organizational districts of the party in Tripura,” stated Saha.

He emphasized that the Yatra was launched to address critical concerns such as soaring prices of essential commodities, unemployment, cronyism, divisive policies, and the national security threat posed by Chinese aggression, among other issues attributed to the Modi-led BJP government.

Saha expressed that the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ had a profound impact across the nation, particularly among the youth, motivating them and revitalizing party workers and leaders alike.

The Pradesh Congress president extended an invitation to the democratic-minded citizens of the state to join the ‘Padyatra’ scheduled for September 7.

Meanwhile, when asked about the voting process in two assembly constituencies of the state, Asish Kumar Saha voiced his concerns, stating that the ruling party had allegedly turned the voting process into a farce.

“Maintaining their tradition of using power and violence, the ruling party is attacking opposition supporters at various places. There are reports that, in the dark of night, common voters were threatened with dire consequences if they did not vote in favor of the BJP,” Saha claimed.
