The final voter list of the 60 assembly constituencies of the state was released on 5th

January, 2023 on the occasion of the upcoming Tripura assembly Electorals. According to the final voter list, the total number of voters in the state is 28, 13,478. Among them 14,14,576 are male voters and 13,98,825 are female voters. There are 77 third gender voters. The number of voters increased by 79,587 compared to the draft voter list. The growth rate is 2.91 percent. Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte gave detailed information about the final voter list in the press conference at the secretariat’s press conference hall yesterday.

He said that as a result of taking various initiatives in the Special Summary Revision-2023 for revising the voter list, the number of voters for every 1000 population is 666. That number was 647 in the draft voter list. He informed that in the final voter list, the number of women voters has increased to 989 per thousand men. There were 981 people in the draft voter list. He informed that according to the final voter list, the number of voters above 18 years of age is 65,044, among them 34,704 are male voters and 30,328 are female voters and 12 are third gender voters. The number of registered female voters is 10,766 more than male voters. He informed that there are 38,039 voters above 80 years of age in the final voter list. The number of voters over hundred years of age is 679 and there are 17,297 Divyangjan voters.

At the press conference, the Chief Electoral Officer informed that there are 3328 polling stations in the state. The average number of voters in each polling station is 845. He informed, according to the final voter list, there are 10,344 service voters. The Chief Electoral Officer informed that voting from home has been facilitated for senior citizens above 80 years of age and divyangjans in the upcoming Tripura Assembly Election. Every polling station will have wheel chair, ramp facility. Provision of drinking water, electricity, sanitation will also be kept. He informed that the work of updating the voter list will continue and in case if anyone is left out from the final voter list, they can include their name till the last date of submission of nomination of candidates. He informed that about 13,500 family members of 5,505 Bru migrants have been included in the final voter list and remaining about 800 Bru migrants families are yet to be included in the voter list as they have not moved to the 12 resettlement areas identified by the state government.

Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Gitte said that all necessary initiatives have been taken by the Election Commission to conduct violence-free polls. Gitte appealed to all citizens, including political parties, to exercise their right to vote without fear. He said Tripura has a tradition of violence-free voting. Everyone should come forward so that its reputation is not damaged. He said that 50 companies of security forces have already arrived at the state in the month of December. Another 50 companies of paramilitary forces will arrive in the state in special train. The Election Department has taken the initiative to organize Rangoli festival in every house on 14th Posh Sakranti to encourage voters to vote. Each assembly constituency will also be awarded for organizing 10 Rangoli festivals. In response to the questions of the journalists, Mr. Gitte said that the Election Commission of 3 members is coming to the state on 11th January. They will stay in the state for two days and discuss various issues related to elections.
