 In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers have been appointed to pivotal roles within the Indian government.

  • LBSNAA Welcomes New Director: Sriram Taranikanti, a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Tripura cadre, has assumed the post of Director at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). He will serve in the rank and pay of a Union Secretary, taking over from Mr. Katikithala Srinivas, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre.

  • Shashi Ranjan Kumar Appointed UPSC Secretary: In another noteworthy development, Shashi Ranjan Kumar, also a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Tripura cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This appointment comes with the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India, temporarily upgrading the post. He succeeds Ms. Vasudha Mishra, an IAS officer from the Telangana cadre (retired).

  • Change in Leadership at Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region: The ACC has modified its earlier order, appointing Chanchal Kumar, currently serving as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, as the Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. This appointment follows the elevation of Mr. Lok Ranjan, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Tripura cadre, as an administrative member in the Central Administrative Tribunal.

  • New Secretaries in Key Ministries: Additionally, the central government has appointed two other senior IAS officers to key positions. Vumlunmang Vualnam, a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Manipur cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Simultaneously, Mr. Neeraj Mittal, also a 1992-batch IAS officer but from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has assumed the role of Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications.
