In a major move towards boosting employment and strengthening various government sectors, the Council of Ministers in Tripura, led by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, has approved the recruitment of 1,267 posts across multiple departments. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held on Thursday and announced by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday.

Key highlights of the recruitment drive include filling 254 vacant Group-C posts in the Revenue Department, which includes 14 Revenue Inspectors, 10 Junior Surveyors, 164 Tehsildars, 37 Mohra, and 29 Amin. This decision aims to improve the efficiency of land revenue management and related services.

The Home Department will also see significant recruitment, with 218 Sub-Inspectors (194 men and 24 women) to be hired through the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). This recruitment drive aims to bolster the state’s law enforcement capacity.

Additionally, the Forest Department will benefit from the creation and filling of 193 posts, including positions such as Informatics Research Officers, Senior Informatics Research Officers, Forest Guards, and Surveyors.

The Finance Department will also see the recruitment of 12 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) to aid in administrative functions. The General Administration (SA) Department plans to recruit 19 drivers and 88 MTS (Group-D) employees, further enhancing operational efficiency.

In the Tribal Welfare Department, the cabinet approved the creation of 13 new posts, including Lower Division Clerks and Research Investigators, along with the recruitment of Programmers and Assistant Programmers. The Youth Affairs and Sports Department will hire 75 Physical Instructors, aiming to improve physical education across the state.

The Education Department will witness the recruitment of 352 Pre-Primary Teachers and 125 Librarians, strengthening Tripura’s education system. Additionally, various posts under the Law, Transport, and Agriculture departments will be created and filled, ensuring the smooth functioning of these sectors.

Beyond recruitment, the cabinet also approved a 5% hike in allowances for 2,378 contractual staff under MGNREGA and increased the pre-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students in Classes VI to VIII from ₹400 to ₹1,000.

Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on social media that a new Tripura Bhavan will be constructed in Kharghar, Mumbai, with construction set to begin soon, marking another milestone in Tripura’s development journey.

These decisions mark a significant step towards the state’s vision of “Viksit Tripura,” focusing on job creation and improving government services.
