Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang held his first cabinet meeting at the secretariat following the swearing-in ceremony yesterday.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the recommendation for the appointment of MLA Sanjeet Kharel as the Pro-term Speaker by the Governor of Sikkim.
The cabinet also decided on ex-gratia payments and house construction for landslide-affected families, approved a four percent increase in Dearness Allowance for government employees and pensioners, and planned a grand celebration for Sikkim’s 50th Statehood anniversary.
