With the Covid situation being improved the state government has decided to start the physical classes in schools , although with some restrictions. According to a notification issued by Director of School Education Chandni Chandran  physical classes for Class VI to XII will restart from August 25 next.

“In view of the reduction in the COVID test positivity rates in Tripura and considering the learning losses that has already occurred, with the approval of State Disaster Management Authority, the Department of Education (School) has decided to start physical classes in the state for all students from VI to XII Standard from 25/08/2021,” the notification said.

The modalities of opening physical classes arc- all schools functioning in single shift, if adequate rooms are not available, may be converted to double shift- morning and afternoon with half students in each shift for all classes. In any case, the Headmasters should ensure that alternate seats are kept unoccupied.

According to the notification, the morning shift will start at 8 am and continue till 11 am while the next (afternoon) shift will take place from 12 pm to 3 pm.

All schools functioning in double shifts have been asked to make a roster for students with half students in each class attending school daily with alternate scats free with 100 percent teacher attendance.

Since the classes for I to V are still suspended, the teachers in those classes will be deployed in class VI to VIII for the Catch Up campaign of Nutun Disha.

The head teachers have been asked to maintain all existing COVID protocols like wearing of masks, maintaining social distance and hygiene practices. The District Education Officers have been instructed to form inspection teams for ensuring the same.
