Mumbai Police recorded a statement of actor Saif Ali Khan yesterday in the January 16 attack case.

On 16th January, the actor suffered multiple stab injuries during a home invasion.

In his statement to the police, Saif Ali Khan said he and his wife Kareena Kapoor were in their bedroom when they heard screams from their house help, Eliyama Phillip. Then they soon rushed to the room of their son, Jeh, where they found an intruder.

According to the statement, the child was crying, and chaos ensued as Saif Ali Khan tried to restrain the man. The intruder then stabbed Khan several times in his back, neck, and arms, which loosened his grip. The actor further said in his statement that he managed to push the intruder away, locked the attacker in the room and ran out of the room with the house staff and the child. Then he was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

In the Saif Ali Khan attack case, Bandra Magistrate Court has sent the accused Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad to Police custody till 29th January. The Court observed that there is substantial progress in the matter and to investigate other consequential aspects is necessary. The court added that such investigation is necessary even for ascertaining the innocence of the accused.
