The number of startups recognised by the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has gone up to over one hundred fifty-seven thousand by the end of the preceding year.
Giving the details in a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada said the government has taken many initiatives for the effective implementation of Startup India ever since its inception in 2016.
In a reply to another question, the minister said District Export Action Plans have been prepared for 590 districts across the country as part of decentralising activities of export promotion.
