The investigation into the shocking murder of Durga Prasanna Deb, popularly known as Vicky, the secretary of the 'Bharat Ratna Sangha,' has taken a riveting turn with a string of unexpected developments. Recent revelations have unfurled a complex web of deception, encompassing arrests, manipulated CCTV footage, purportedly fake police interventions, and a heartbreaking suicide.
Several suspects, including former club president Pradyot Dhar Chowdhury, college student Susmita Deb, and Bir Chakra Ghosh from Kolkata, have been apprehended. However, the focus has now shifted to Sunny Saha, brother-in-law of prime suspect Raju Barman, arrested near a Hindi school in Agartala's Abhay Nagar area.
Police uncovered that crucial footage crucial to the investigation had been tampered with, allegedly by Saha and a CCTV operator. Nevertheless, forensic experts managed to retrieve the deleted footage, providing insight into the events preceding the murder.
In a tragic twist, Babul Dutta from Noapara tragically took his own life following a raid on his home by individuals posing as law enforcement officers, possibly linked to the case. This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the collateral damage of the investigation.
