In Mumbai Open Tennis 2025, India’s Ankita Raina has advanced to the pre-quarterfinals with a commanding victory over her compatriot Vaishnavi Adkar 6-2, 6-2 in the Women’s Singles round of 32 at the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai. Ankita, the second-ranked Indian tennis player in the Women’s Tennis Association rankings will now face Rebecca Marino of Canada in her pre-quarterfinal clash, tomorrow.
The Mumbai Open, returning after six years, has seen past champions including 2024 Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka, who claimed the 2017 title as a teenager, Thailand’s Luksika Kumkhum, the 2018 champion, and Latvia’s Darja Semeņistaja, who won in 2024.
