Massive security arrangements being put in place before LS Polls

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Ramanagar assembly elections, rigorous security measures are being implemented across the state of [state name]. Thousands of uniformed personnel, with a special focus on vulnerable and sensitive areas, are being deployed to ensure a free and fair electoral process. Additionally, security police and personnel in plain clothes are engaged in surveillance activities to maintain vigilance.

Senior police officers, including IG Law and Order Soumitra Dhar, are actively involved in overseeing security arrangements. They are conducting review meetings at district levels and making surprise visits to police stations and outposts to assess preparedness. District SPs, Addl SPs, and SDPOs are also regularly visiting interior police stations and camps to motivate personnel and ensure readiness.

Flag marches involving central para military forces and TSR troopers are being conducted at district and sub-divisional levels as confidence-building measures. Special arrangements for border areas have been planned, with a focus on bolstering security.

Official sources indicate a significant deployment of security forces, including 70 companies of Central Armed Police Forces and 5000 TSR personnel. More than 350 Flying Squad Teams (FST) and Static Surveillance Teams (SST) are operational throughout the state.

Over 1000 vehicle checking points and 100 permanent Naka bandis have been established to monitor movement. Flag marches, aimed at instilling a sense of security and confidence among the populace, have been conducted extensively, with over 1700 carried out by CAPF alone from March 1 to 27.

Nakabandis have resulted in the checking of 1.25 lakh vehicles, leading to the realization of more than Rs. 1 crore in fines. Furthermore, security personnel have seized narcotics, liquor, gambling articles, etc., worth over Rs. 3.5 crore during this period. Additionally, over 12,000 preventive arrests have been made at the police station level.

A joint Control Room is operational, with senior officers regularly visiting districts to brief the force and ensure coordination. These concerted efforts underscore the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold security and integrity during the electoral process.
