Lahaul Spiti district administration cautioned tourists and local people to avoid unnecessary travel as there is a high probability of avalanches in the Lahaul Valley.
After ascertaining the safety and suitability of traffic conditions of the roads from Atal Tunnel Rohtang to Darcha to prevent any potential danger or disruption in travel Superintendent of Police Mayank Chaudhary said that due to recent snowfall in the area administration issued an advisory to ensure the safety and suitability of traffic.
District Police requests the local people and tourists of the district to avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather and travel only when it becomes necessary.
There may be a risk of triggering Avalanche at any time.
The administration issued necessary guidelines to all the police station and outpost in-charges to assess the impact of the recent snowfall in the district and to take necessary measures to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow and carefully inspect various major areas and routes within the district.
The SP said Darcha to Sarchu, Darcha to Shinkula, and Gramphu to Lossar roads are closed due to snowfall.
SKTT (Sanasari Killard Thirot Tandi)road Tandi to Kadhu Nullah and Summon to Lossar are open (only for four by four vehicles).
