In Men’s Hockey India League, Vedanta Kalinga Lancers defeated Team Gonasika 2-1, at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela Odisha last evening. S V Sunil opened the scoring for Gonasika in the 14th minute.
However, the Lancers quickly responded, with Antoine Kina levelling the score in the 28th minute. Later, the Lancers’ captain Aran Zalewski found the back of the net in the 33rd minute and secured their second consecutive victory in the tournament.
Kina was named Player of the Match. With this victory, the Lancers have climbed to third place in the points table with seven points, while Gonasika is in seventh place with four points.
Today, the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers will face Tamil Nadu Dragons. The match will begin at 8:15 PM, IST.
