Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu emphasized the transformative impact of financial literacy among women, stating that it plays a crucial role in strengthening families and society. He made these remarks while inaugurating the Financial Literacy Week 2025 celebration, organized by the Reserve Bank of India’s Agartala branch at Hotel Polo Towers.

The theme for this year’s Financial Literacy Week is "Financial Literacy – Empowered Women." The Governor stressed that in geographically backward regions, financial awareness is essential for women to avail themselves of various government schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and PM Ujjwala Yojana. He stated that bridging the financial literacy gap would equip women with the necessary skills to manage finances efficiently.

Governor Nallu further highlighted that women’s financial empowerment is not just about personal growth but also contributes significantly to economic development and nation-building. He encouraged women to take charge of their financial future, actively engage in household financial decisions, and help create a self-reliant society.

The Governor also recognized the increasing role of women in business, entrepreneurship, and social leadership. He pointed out that greater awareness of digital banking, online payments, and financial planning would enhance their economic participation. He praised women for breaking traditional barriers and proving their competence across various sectors.

The event featured a welcome address by Surendra Needer, General Manager of the RBI Agartala branch, and remarks from Rakhi Biswas, Additional Secretary of the Small Savings Department. Among the distinguished attendees were Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank, along with other notable personalities.

A documentary on financial literacy was screened, and a consumer awareness poster was unveiled to promote financial education and empowerment.
