Enforcement Directorate launches massive raids across Tripura against drugs kingpins

Enforcement Directorate has launched massive raids across Tripura simultaneously since early Friday morning from 6 am.

The well-coordinated and well planned raids are being conducted at the residences and offices of the drugs kingpins – mostly who deal with Ganja and Yaba. According to sources they are the key persons, not the couriers, who run the rackets from behind and so far remained untouched.

Though Tripura became the most important producers of Ganja and corridor for synthetic drugs like Yaba , this is for the first time in Tripura such raids against the drug kingpins are being conducted.

In Agartala and its suburb only raids are being conducted at the residence of Apu Ranjan Das, Deb brata Dey, Bishu Tripura, Kamini Debbrama ,Tapas Debnath , Dhruba Majumder ,Litan Saha. As  many as  250 CRPF personnel are assisting the ED .

It is not yet known how much money or what are papers the ED has so far recovered, but sources indicate that it can be ‘huge’.

The raids are, sources say,  being monitored by the head of the ED of the state.
