In a remarkable milestone for adventure sports in Tripura, the Agartala Adventure Club has become the first trekking club from the state to successfully reach the Mount Everest Base Camp.
The team, supported by Tripura Tourism, comprised Dr. Sandeep Das, Shubhajit Chowdhury, Chandan Debnath, Debabrata Majumder, Sujit Debnath, and Dr. Bibhas Saha Roy. Starting their journey from Tripura on October 17, 2024, they undertook the challenging trek from Salleri, covering an 85-kilometer route to reach the base camp at an altitude of 17,598 feet.
Braving harsh weather and treacherous terrain, the team’s determination and resilience saw them through this formidable journey. Niljyoti Travel Agency served as the travel partner for the expedition.
This landmark achievement showcases Tripura’s growing spirit in adventure sports and is expected to inspire future trekking enthusiasts in the region.
