Actor Saif Ali Khan attacked by unknown assailants, stable after surgery

Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was attacked by unknown assailants last night, is now stable and out of danger. Doctors at Lilavati Hospital have confirmed that he was admitted at 2 AM with a severe injury to his thoracic spinal cord, caused by a two-inch knife lodged in the cord.

The knife was successfully removed, and leaking spinal fluid was halted through surgery. Plastic surgery was also performed on two other injuries, to his left hand and neck. Mr Khan has now been transferred from the operating theatre to the ICU, where he will remain under observation for 24 hours.

The police have reported that the assailant entered Saif Ali Khan’s house via the stairs during a robbery attempt. The suspect has been identified, and ten detection teams are currently working to locate and apprehend him.
