Tripura Police declined permission for the Trinamool Congress’ proposed Padayatra on September 15. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh, however, in a tweet said that the Padayatra would be held next day – on September 16.
SDPO Sadar in a letter informed the TMC that on September 15 next another political party would hold a mass rally and would take the same route that the TMC proposed. The rejection letter was addressed to TMC leader Subal Bhowmik.
After rejection of the permission for the Padayatra on September 15 which was supposed to be led by TMC general secretary Abhishek Bannerjee, the party submitted another letter seeking permission for the Padayatra on September 16, Ghosh said in his tweet.
The Padayatra for TMC was important as it wanted to register its strength in the show in the city.
