The TMC leaders expressed their satisfaction that the party whch had only .03 percent votes in last assembly elections could garner this time over 20 per cent votes in the AMC areas.

The TMC leaders like Rajib Banerjee and Subal Bhowmik  also expressed its satisfaction at the security arrangements in and around the counting halls but they added that had the same security measures been taken during and at the run up of the polls thngs might have been different and violence would have not taken place.

Abhishek Banerjee , TMC general secretary in his tweets said : “It is exceptional for a party beginning with negligible presence to successfully contest municipal elections and emerge as the PRINCIPAL OPPOSITION in the state with more than 20% vote share.

“This is despite the fact that we commenced our activities barely 3 months ago and BJP left no stone unturned to BUTCHER DEMOCRACY in Tripura. Congratulations to all the brave soldiers of the AITC Tripura for their exemplary courage.”

“Khela has just begun”, he said.

In Agartala, Rajib Banerjee said, the election results of the civic polls only confirms that in the next assembly elections the TMC is going to wrest the state’s power.
