Two persons Mujibor Islam Majumder and Subhankar Debnath were injured when a group of youths, alleged to be BJP activists, attacked them on Sunday afternoon. They were admitted in hospital.

 Both Mujibor Islam Majumder and Subhankar Debnath are Trinamool Congress activists. Mujibor Islam happens to be a TMC leader who is also younger brother of BJP leader Baharul Islam Majumder. The attacks were committed in the house Mujibor Islam Majumder at Milanchakra area of Badharghat constituency on Saturday. The attack was launched as preparation was going on for a joining programme.

The miscreants ran amok ain the house and damaged motorcycles and other articles in the house. The attack was reportedly launched soon after a rally in the city on Saturday.

The TMC activists protested the incident in the form of road blockade near the spot. Police visited the spot soon after the incident and cleared the road.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress brought out the rally in the city, covering Banamalipur constituency, with eight-point charter of demands. The rally was led by West Bengal TMC MP Santanu Sen. Some other leaders including Kunal Ghosh and Subal Bhowmik along with a good number of party workers joined the rally.
